Will Make Grilled Cheese for Charity

Grilled Cheese for CharityHere’s an update on Matt Cardwell’s post last month on grilled cheese sandwiches — "one of the best comfort foods on the planet" as he put it.

Well we like grilled cheese so much around here that we decided to have regular grilled cheese parties, complete with tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

For a measly $2, we can get a fresh and piping-hot grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of soup.  Of course, if we want to pay a little more, that’s fine.

After all bread and cheese and soup costs are covered, the rest goes to a charity of our choice from DonorsChoose

Yesterday we raised $75 to help buy crayons for a low-income school in Collinsville, Alabama.  A worthy cause and we are happy to say that the crayons are on their way!

It’s just a small donation.  But sometimes it’s the little things that count the most.

I wonder what school kid’s dream our next grilled cheese cookout will fulfill?  We’ll just have to wait and see!

  2. Great idea-team building, and it benefits others too.
Our team is going to try it out later this month.

  3. We loved this idea-we had a grilled cheese/tomato soup lunch this week. All the team leaders pitched in and bought the food and did the cooking. We collected $100.00 for the Humane Society. We’re thinking of doing a Sloppy Joe and Salad Day next month.
