I think I’ve received the Animal Rescue site email about 10 times over the past several years. Many of you have probably received it too.
The latest time came from the one person who certifies it (in my mind at least) as bona fide viral. That would be my mom. She forwarded it to me and a few dozen other folks that she considers "animal lovers."
"Hello folks, sending this out to my animal loving friends. All you have to do is visit the site site and click the little button at the top of the page. They donate food to hungry dogs."
Of course there were the typical gazillion attachments going back several years on the email. Which proves all the more that it truly is viral. So here is my part to spread the word. Every time someone clicks on the "click here to give" button on the site, advertisers donate .6 bowls of dog food to animal shelters. Not sure what .6 bowls of dog food is, but I’m sure it helps.
My dog Grover eats like 17 pounds of food a day (he’s got a pretty big bowl), so .6 bowls for him would be like 5 pounds or something. I’m assuming the donation made from the site is smaller, but again, it helps and all you have to do is click and view a page of advertisers.
And I notice from the site that Animal Rescue is celebrating its 6th anniversary this year. Pretty cool.
So if you’ve never been to the Animal Rescue site, just go http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com and check it out. Click a couple of times and pass the link on to a friend. Just like my mom did.
