Fathead Tradeables reviewed on Beckett.com

Editor Chris Olds & Marketing Analyst Brian Fleischer from Beckett Media recently did an awesome video review for Quicken Loans sister company Fathead! Their review series is called Box Busters and on this installment, they reviewed Fathead Tradeables, which are 5"x7" peel-n-stick vinyl reusable vinyl graphics that come with a secret code to unlock fun on Tradeables.com. They really explain the Tradeables well in the review, so watch the video to learn more. Beckett.com is the #1 authority on sports collectibles, so we're so psyched they like Tradeables.

And if you're interested in buying the Tradeables or Fatheads, check out our online store. Thanks to Chris, Brian and Beckett Media for the review!

Every Day is Earth Day at Quicken Loans!

Green Quiz

We love Earth Day. It's a great time to look back at the year and see what kind of progress we've made in our continual "Go Green" efforts!

This year we made it easier to recycle in our kitchens by supplying recyle bins, we provided a forum for people to hook up with carpooling buddies, and we implemented technology that powers off our computers at night - saving energy as well as saving the company money.

And we're always looking to improve. Recently we met with Choose Renewables for a building walk through. They provided us with several power saving options that we're beginning to implement. And we're also in the process of adding styrofoam recycling to our recyling repertoire.

We're also working with Choose Renewables to help us make smart choices as we plan our move to downtown Detroit. We want to make use of the latest technologies in our new space to reduce power consumption and utilize earth-friendly materials whenever possible.

Wondering about your own efforts to go green? On Quizzle, our home and money website, we've developed a Green Quiz with the help of Choose Renewable. The quiz helps you evaluate the "greeness" of your home and lifestyle. Answer a few questions, and you'll get a Green Score! It's a great tool to see how you compare to other homeowners, and to see what areas of your home and life could use some green love.

We look forward to reporting more great news about our ongoing green efforts. Got any green tips? Celebrate Earth Day by sharing some inspiration!

Happy Earth Day!

Make Your Own Bag – With Recycled Materials!

Freitag Bags - DIY and earth friendly!

I am so psyched about my new bag.

I've been in the market for awhile to find a new bag. My requirements: messenger style, hold a lot, and preferably be earth friendly in some respect. I had been researching solar powered bags, and also looking at bags made with recycled materials. I mulled and dreamed and shopped, and never could really make the committment.

Finally, while travelling recently in England, necessity pushed my bag-acquisition pursuits into high gear, as the bag I had was just not cutting it for holding the guide books, umbrella, and other accoutremount I needed for urban adventuring. I spied many Freitag bags in the backs and shoulders of Londoners, including on one of my hosts, and mentioned I'd love to have one. They took me to a couple of cool shops in Soho and helped me pick out my practical souvenir…an expandable, durable messenger bag with multiple comparments.

Be careful what you wish for, Audi

I came across this image yesterday and thought it was a great example of "be careful what you wish for". Pay close attention to the Audi billboard at the left of the photo, and the several-story-high response BMW erected afterward. Audi's got game, but BMW's the Grandmaster in this head-to-head match-up.

The Price is Right: Quicken Loans family companies Cleveland Cavaliers and Fathead get in on the game

The Quicken Loans DIFF: Cleveland Cavaliers and Fathead on the Price is Right! Ever hear of The Price is Right? It’s only the most successful game show in TV history, with a 30+ year run on CBS! The show is now hosted by Cleveland native and REAL.BIG. Cleveland sports fan Drew Carey!

Well, our Quicken Loans siblings over at Fathead and the Cleveland Cavaliers worked their magic, coming up with an amazing Fathead and Cleveland Cavaliers prize package that will be featured on The Price is Right not just once, but twice, in the next few weeks!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 14th, lucky contestants will play for the opportunity to win the Fathead/Cavaliers package as the coveted Showcase Showdown!  The package includes: an all expense paid trip to Cleveland to watch the Cavs in the NBA Play Offs from courtside seats (plus behind-the-scenes tours), two Fathead XZipit luxury recliners with favorite team logos, a pair of LeBron James Fathead wall graphics, Fathead PDA skins, memorabilia and much more!

Then, in an episode airing on MAY 5th, during the NBA playoffs, contestants have a chance to win it again. Yep, Drew had so much fun with it the first time, they decided to tape a second episode … the second one also will feature Drew Carey having some Fathead fun during half-time at The Q!

Check your local TV listings to determine the time and CBS station it will air on in your area:  http://www.tvguide.com/.

Detroit Free Press DIFF story: Nurse Susan Zayan saves a life

From Detroit Free Press: Susan the Nurse Saves A Life I read the Detroit Free Press online everyday. In a city where so much happens every day, I am rarely caught off guard anymore. Today, I was pleasantly surprised.

This morning, the Freep featured a story about Susan Zayan. She is a nurse with the St. Joseph Mercy Health System. And yesterday she saved a man's life while not on the clock. Scott Parker had gotten out of his car to check his windshield wipers when he was hit by a semi-truck. By the time Susan got to him, he'd already lost a lot of blood from a main artery in his leg that had been severed.

Susan sprung into action and did all she could to minimize the blood loss while the ambulance was en route. She even did double-duty, keeping Scott's wife calm and having her keep her husband alert.

In the end, Scott lived. He was transported to the hospital and is doing much better now. But without the help of Susan, the story could have ended very differently.

So hats off to Susan, who is definitely The DIFF!  She took the time to help a stranger in need and ended up saving his life.

Read this great story in its entirety in this Detroit Free Press article.
