Yesterday I reported on bad news regarding the economy in our (metro Detroit) area. Today, I've got good news.
Quicken Loans/Rock Financial is joining with the Detroit Pistons to help 400 Detroit families with food and personal supplies to help deal with the upcoming winter (rumor is it's gonna be a cold one).
Here's the story from today's Detroit Free Press:
The volunteers, including local youth groups, are to distribute 25-pound boxes of food and personal care items to families from Childhelp Michigan.
Funding for the food and supplies came from the Pistons Care Telethon, a 17-hour event held in March at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The event raised more than $450,000.
Quicken Loans/Rock Financial donated 400 backpacks for the children of the families selected to receive support. Fathead, headquartered in Livonia, makes life-size wall graphics.
With so much bad news lately, it's nice to be associated with something good.

This is a wonderful opinion. The things mentioned are unanimous and needs to be appreciated by everyone.
