Youth Mosiac Detroit is a great organization.
Why do I say that?
Good question. Well, to put it bluntly, the group does amazingly creative things and they do them well.
This is a world-class arts organization that puts on top notch shows. I've seen one of their performances – Crossing 8 Mile – and was blown away by the talent. These kids are good.
And, I've had the pleasure of being in some shows with some of the graduates of the programs and they were incredible. They literally saved one show I was in and took another to a level we couldn't have acheived without them.
If you're from the Detroit area, support them. You'll be happy you did. If you're a reader from another area, I bet there is something like Mosiac Youth Theatre of Detroit near you. Find them and support them. You'll be happy you did.
Here's a little more info about Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit from their website:
By definition, a mosaic is an array of different pieces joined together to create a work of art. Accordingly, Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit is founded on the richness of difference.
Our young artists come from city and suburban schools, and a variety of social, economic, racial, cultural and religious backgrounds.
Through our professional performing arts program, these young artists blend their ideas and talents and achieve excellence in their theatrical and musical performances. Yet, their success is perhaps best measured by how they excel in life.
Mosaic proudly reports that more than 95% of its youth ensemble members graduate from high school and go on to college.
The fact that 95% of the youth ensemble graduate high school and go on to college is incredible. This is in Detroit, folks, where an estimate 50% of young people don't graduate high school.
Give Detroit Youth Mosiac some love by supporting them. They need it and deserve it.
