Summer of Stars

7-20-2010 1-09-48 PM You know those Michigan summers that we anxiously await all year long for? Well now, the rest of the world knows what we’re talking about thanks to David Arquette.

While filming Scream 4 this summer in Ann Arbor, he’s been tweeting non-stop about how amazing Michigan is! If you don’t believe me, just take a look!

David's tweets have included photos of Michigan sunsets, local restaurants and even a pawn shop in Pontiac he had luck at! Pure Michigan has also taken notice of David's positive tweets promoting Michigan.

My Time With the Detroit Rovers Scooter Club

Rovers Scooter Club in Ferndale, MI

During my freshman year of college I decided to use some of my student loan money to buy a vintage Vespa.  I’m pretty sure that’s what the government wanted me to use these funds for.  My friend and I jumped in his pickup truck and headed to Baltimore to pick up the scooters.  It was a great weekend full of adventure and many firsts (first road trip, first time trying sushi and my first Vespa).  The scooter, a 1976 125TS, was in pretty good condition aside from the engine being covered in road grime.  We loaded the bikes into the pickup and headed back to East Lansing, MI.

Diabetes research sends Quicken Loans IT guy snowmobiling from Michigan to Alaska

Diabetes research is why this Quicken Loans IT guy is snowmobiling from Michigan to Alaska By Mark Smith

While many of us envision a lengthy vacation as a relaxation utopia filled with tide-combed sandy beaches, romantic sunsets and tropical drinks filled to their sugary rims, one Quicken Loans team member decided to take a bit of a different vacation… one that benefits millions!

Along with 60 other generous folks from around the nation, David Little is heading in opposite direction of your typical holiday and venturing north…the Great White North to be exact! In order to raise donations for the Diabetes Research Institute, these brave snowmobilers are covering more than 4,100 miles through the frozen landscapes of northern United States and Canada on their trek from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Tok, Alaska.

Organizing this trip with a cause is MichCanSka, Bill Bradfield’s international snowmobiling charity ride benefiting the Diabetes Research Institute which helps millions around the world in their fight against diabetes.

Follow David Little’s journey from the comfort of your cozy laptop on his blog. This site shares David’s posts along the snowy tracks of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, the Yukon territory and Alaska.  You’ll also find links to the official MichCanSka site, live tracking of David’s group as well as a Donations page where you can help take the Diabetes Research Institute steps closer to curing diabetes.

utopia

Okay so maybe I exaggerated.  This isn't really a boat after all, it's a luxury liner.  And for $3.7 million you can buy a complete home on this ship.  If you love cruises, this would be the ideal vacation home.  So what does this multi-national home include?
