This article was originally featured on Quicken Loans Mortgage News. According to Zillow, a Hollywood Hills home once owned by Ellen DeGeneres and after that, the late Heath Ledger, is now for sale for $3,695,000. This home is affectionately named the “Tree House” because of its private wooded area and forest-like views. Unlike other celebrity mansions, this house only measures to be 1,861 square feet. It has two bedrooms and two full baths, and boasts a Shangri-La remodel.
In case you didn’t know what a Shangri-La remodel would look like, this term was first invented by James Hilton in a novel that described a fictional place with a mythical Himalayan utopia. Apparently in this case it would refer to a peaceful, nature oriented architecture, as the house literally opens up to the tops of trees.
For under $4 million, you can buy this luxurious getaway, and enjoy the cozy comforts of a small but Zen habitat. For more information, check out Zillow’s original article, as well as our previous mentions of extraordinary homes. (Photo courtesy of Zillow.com)
