Startup Weekend Detroit – Change is Coming

Startup Weekend Detroit - Quicken Loans is sending team members for free!

“An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come.”

French poet Victor Hugo’s words are an inspiration to all creative minds looking to discover that new idea. From college graduates to local entrepreneurs, each is seeking to make the next big breakthrough. Whether that breakthrough is launching a business or finding a better way to do things, the creative spirit is alive and well in Detroit.

Despite its hardships, a positive change is taking place in Detroit. A
focal point of this change is Startup Weekend Detroit, which provides
complete startup architecture to take local developers, innovators,
marketers and entrepreneurs from ideas to launch. The idea is to build
communities around the world by providing resources and incentivizing
teams to build successful startup companies. Startup Weekend Detroit
gathers the smartest, most passionate citizens together in one space to
make things happen!

To continue being a vital part of the change happening in the city, Quicken Loans has offered to reimburse the full $50 fee for its first 100 team members who register for Startup Weekend Detroit. Along with Quicken Loans team members, Startup Weekend Detroit will be teeming with the best and brightest Detroit has to offer.

The 3-day weekend event goes from Friday, May 14th to Sunday, May 16th at Wayne State University’s College of Engineering. If you are interested in signing up or just want more information, check out the Startup Weekend Detroit website.

The next big idea is coming. Will you be the one who reaches it first?
